This would mark my third time visiting Rome, although it wasn’t much of a visit. We only stopped to switch trains so we could get on our way to Pisa. Since we were only going to be spending a day on Pisa, I was quite excited. All I really wanted to see was that silly leaning tower deal that I have been hearing so much about.
The most favourite activity was lying down on the grass near the tower. The sun had finally poked its head through the clouds and bestowed a wonderful sunny day upon us. There were some more pictures taken, of course, and some people watching, which is always a must in these given situations. We were making fun of all the people doing the standard poses but really couldn’t give them flack considering we had had our fare share of cheese-ball photography just prior to theirs.
After we were shooed off of the lawn we went on a walk to explore the sidewalk shops. Lindsey and Ramsey both purchased some killer shades. I almost did myself but decided not to, considering I already had one and a half pair. We found a nice little restaurant nearby and had a good lunch. The gang indulged in some pizza while I had some pasta. It sounded amazing on the menu but was a rip off when it came to the portion. I should have gotten the penne pasta instead of the pappardelle. A lady next to me ordered the penne and had a massive portion. Maybe I just wasn’t cut enough? My appetite was not satisfied at all after this little pasta dish so I hit up a pizza stand right away and had some proper slices.
We went on a walk to the centre of town and decided o wander down a random street just to see where it took us. It wasn’t the most exciting walk in the word but there were definitely some perks. We got to eat some more pizza, we found a park, and we got some good exercise! All-in-all it was a good day. We headed back to the train station afterwards to board yet another night train... lovely. Pisa... count it! Prague, here I come again!
